The diocesan press publishing group is an amalgamation of four publishers that publish church newspapers for twelve German dioceses , based in Osnabrück .
Publishing group
The shareholders of the publishing group are Bernward Mediengesellschaft mbH (Hildesheim), St. Benno Buch- und Zeitschriftenverlagsgesellschaft (Leipzig), Society for Church Journalism (Mainz) and Verlag Kirchenbote (Osnabrück).
The members publish a total of eight individual diocese newspapers:
- KirchenZeitung Aachen ( Diocese of Aachen )
- Day of the Lord ( Archdiocese of Berlin , Diocese of Dresden-Meißen , Diocese of Erfurt , Diocese of Görlitz , Diocese of Magdeburg )
- Bonifatiusbote ( Diocese of Fulda )
- New church newspaper ( Archdiocese of Hamburg )
- KirchenZeitung ( Diocese of Hildesheim )
- Sunday ( Diocese of Limburg )
- Faith and Life ( Diocese of Mainz )
- Church messenger ( Diocese of Osnabrück )
The content for the national part of the newspapers is produced in the central editorial office in Osnabrück. However, each diocese newspaper has its own journalistic independence.
In 2018 the eight church newspapers had a total weekly circulation of around 94,000 copies.
