Land surveying office
Surveying office ( also surveying authority in administrative law , formerly also measuring office or measuring authority ) is a general term for a state or communal authority or its organizational part that performs the tasks of official surveying . Depending on the form of organization in the various countries referred Survey Office , Land Registry , Survey Office or Office of Land Management the authority or organizational unit for the parcel surveying (including property survey or GIS systems ) and the management of the real estate cadastre as an official register of parcels is responsible. Several countries have canceled the previous name and found other names, most of which contain the root word geo- for geodesy or geoinformation .
In a broad sense, the administration leading the real estate cadastre is called surveying and cadastral administration . In addition, many of these institutions publish official maps and are therefore also map publishers .
Military geography is often - or has been - managed separately with its own demands on surveying, cartography and secrecy.
