Card publisher

A map publisher is a publisher or part of a publishing group whose main field of activity is the production and sale of maps . In some cases, cartographic or thematic maps or travel guides are also part of the publisher's program .

There is a strong tendency among map publishers to form publishing groups . Nevertheless - similar to the specialist book publishers - there are many small businesses that have specialized. Companies in the GIS sector, some civil engineers , academy institutes or photogrammetric surveying offices are also active in the field of map production.

Thematic maps are u. a. of state services of the geology or the soil science prepared further by municipalities and the planning or geo higher institutes. They are not listed below because of their diversity and limited markets .
