The VEB Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke ( KHW ) was a company based in Klingenthal in Vogtland Musikwinkel that the main producer of accordions , harmonicas and electronic musical instruments in the GDR was.

The state-owned company VEB Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke was founded on January 1st, 1949 by merging several private companies (for example the FA Rauner company ). As early as 1961, 125,578 accordions were manufactured there, which were exported to more than 40 countries. In 1964 VEB Vermona was incorporated into the Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke. In 1972 a further 17 companies with state participation were converted into state-owned and affiliated to the VEB Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke (for example the FA Böhm company ). The production and development of the electronic sound generators and effect devices took place in the Schöneck factory, where the VERMONA logo first appeared on the ET-6 organ in 1972. In 1985 more than 3000 employees work in the different parts of the company.

In 1990 the Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke became numerous independent companies again.

The VERMONA brand was brought back to life in 2000 by HDB electronic GmbH .
