Verneda Thomas
Verneda Estella Thomas (born June 21, 1936 in Chicago , † March 30, 2016 in Honolulu ) was an American high jumper and volleyball player .
At the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1955 , she won bronze in the high jump with her personal best of 1.59 m.
In 1957 she became US champion in this discipline.
At the 1964 Olympics , she came in fifth place with the US volleyball team.
