The Regulation for testing aviation equipment (LuftGerPV) regulates the requirements and procedure of testing of aviation equipment to its airworthiness in the development, manufacture and maintenance in Germany . The Federal Aviation Office is responsible for issuing them and for monitoring compliance with them . Its current version was announced as Article 2 of the Ordinance on the Amendment of Aviation Law Regulations on the Development, Approval, Manufacturing and Maintenance of Aviation Equipment of August 3, 1998 ( Federal Law Gazette I, p. 2010).
According to this regulation, the airworthiness review can be performed in several ways:
- as part of the development as
- Sample check
- Single piece inspection
- as part of the production as
- Routine test
- Tests in a quality management system
- as part of maintenance as
- Maintenance checks
- Reviews
In addition, equipment or accessories can also be tested within the framework of the ordinance. The testing of defined components can also take place in separate, approved companies (mostly the manufacturer), outside of the actual testing of the aircraft.
The regulation also serves to implement European regulations. In order to guarantee equal rights within the EU , these tasks are in turn performed by the European Aviation Safety Agency . The LuftGerPV is part of the implementing provisions of the Aviation Act .
