The Aviation Act ( LuftVG ) is the central source of aviation law in Germany . It contains regulations on the following subject areas:

  • Aircraft and aviation personnel
  • Airfields
  • Aviation companies and events
  • Traffic regulations
  • Airport coordination, air traffic control and aviation weather service
  • Early possession and expropriation
  • Common rules

  • Liability to persons and property that are not in aircraft transported
  • Liability for people and baggage carried in the aircraft; Liability for delayed carriage
  • Other liability issues, including for military aircraft

history

The first version dates from August 1, 1922. A major new version was not made until November 4, 1968, but the first changes were made three years later through the law on protection against aircraft noise . Further adjustments were made after the Montreal Convention of 1999, e.g. B. in 2010 regarding the limits of liability.
