Vertbaudet (spelling: vertbaudet) is a French brand for children's fashion with headquarters in Tourcoing , France . In addition to the main range of textiles for children from 0 to 14 years of age, the company offers maternity wear, baby items, toys and products for the children's room.

history

The brand was founded in 1963 by the family business Dewavrin in the north of France as a mail order company. In 1989 La Redoute took over the family business. In 1994 Vertbaudet joined the Pinault Printemps Redoute group. Vertbaudet's first branch was opened in 1996 in Lille. There are now around 80 branches in France.

On January 19, 2007, Vertbaudet Deutschland GmbH was founded in Fürth , Germany. In March 2007 the first German main catalog for children's fashion was published and a German-language webshop was set up. At the end of 2010, Carlyle Germany took over six companies from the Primondo Specialty Group (PSG), including the mail order company Walz GmbH , Bon'A Parte and 50% of Vertbaudet Deutschland GmbH.

In March 2013 these shares were sold by PSG to Groupe Alpha. Marc Schmid has been Managing Director of Vertbaudet Deutschland GmbH since May 2018.

The Vertbaudet Germany GmbH was originally a 50: 50 joint venture between the Redcats Group and the Primondo Specialty Group (later Puccini Group). Vertbaudet Deutschland GmbH has been 100% owned by Groupe Alpha, Paris / Luxembourg, since March 28, 2013 .

Catalog

In 1963 Vertbaudet sent France its first catalog. It included children's fashion and nursery items. As part of the specialization in the areas of baby and children's fashion, maternity wear and children's items, separate catalogs were published for clothing and children's room items. The first children's room catalog was published in 2001. The first German main catalog, then called “Kinderwelt”, appeared on March 1, 2007. In Germany, the Vertbaudet children's room catalog has been published since autumn 2011.

E-commerce

Since 1999 the vertbaudet range can also be ordered over the Internet. When Vertbaudet Deutschland GmbH was founded , the company also set up its own German online shop. Divided into the sub-categories of girls 'fashion, boys' fashion, baby fashion, children's shoes, maternity wear, baby items, furniture & storage, decoration & bedding and toys, the entire vertbaudet range is offered there. The collections are also available on marketplaces (babywalz.de and walzkidzz.de as well as Amazon and Zalando, formerly also at quelle.de and neckermann.de).

Stores and shop corners

In 2009, the first Babywalz branches in Germany were equipped with so-called shop corners, which offer a selection of vertbaudet's baby collections. Vertbaudet was represented with shop corners in over 30 Babywalz branches by 2018. From September 2012 to February 2014 there were two own stores in Berlin. These first two test stores in Berlin were followed by two large stores in Nuremberg and Berlin from 2014 to 2019.

Social commitment and sustainability

Vertbaudet supports the cultivation of controlled organic cotton with its "organic collection" and since 2008 a UNICEF vaccination project in the Central African Republic with the "UNICEF" collection . For every item from this collection sold, € 1.50 will be transferred to UNICEF.
