The Ministry of Defense ( English Ministry of Defense ) is the Ministry of Defense of Sierra Leone .

Since April 2018, the Ministry has been headed for the first time by the President in personal union, i.e. currently (as of May 2018) Julius Maada Bio . He is by Colonel i. R. Simeon Sheriff represented as Vice Minister.

Together with the personnel manager of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces (Chief of Defense Staff) , Lieutenant General Brima Sesay , this supervises various directorates, for example the directorate Military Operations (military operations). All branches of the armed forces , i.e. army , navy and air forces , report to the personnel officer .

The Ministry's task is to formulate, monitor and evaluate a defense strategy for Sierra Leone within the framework of democratic governance.
