Treaty of Constantinople (1678)

The Treaty of Constantinople , signed on April 7, 1678 , was a peace treaty between the Ottoman Empire on the one hand and Poland-Lithuania on the other. The Sublime Porte ratified the agreements made in the Treaty of Żurawno in 1676. Podolia , conquered by the Turks, together with the main fortress Kamieniec Podolski, remained with the Ottoman Empire, and the Sultan waived the tribute to be paid by the Poles according to the Treaty of Buczacz , but never paid . The Polish legation was headed by Jan Krzysztof Gniński .
