The VP Bank AG is a Liechtenstein private bank based in Vaduz . It was founded in 1956 by the Princely Commerce Councilor Guido Feger and became one of the largest banks in Liechtenstein . As an international private bank, it focuses on asset management for private individuals and financial intermediaries .

In addition to its headquarters in Liechtenstein, the VP Bank Group includes companies with banking licenses in Switzerland , Luxembourg , the British Virgin Islands and Singapore, as well as an asset management company in Hong Kong .

The shares of VP Bank are listed on the Swiss stock exchange SIX Swiss Exchange listed .

history

Up to 1956 there were only two banks in Liechtenstein: the Liechtensteinische Landesbank as an institution under public law and the Bank in Liechtenstein AG with a private law character. On April 6, 1956, Guido Feger set up the administration and private bank - today's VP Bank - with a capital of two million  Swiss francs in the legal form of an institution. The establishment was a result of the further development of his Allgemeine Treuunternehmens (ATU) in Vaduz.

VP Bank opened an asset management company in Dubai and Hong Kong in April 2007 and in Singapore in September. In June 2008, the VP Bank Group received a banking license in Singapore from the MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) . VP Bank AG (Switzerland) moved to the Alte Börse at Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse 3.

In 2009, Liechtenstein signed thirteen international agreements on cooperation in tax matters. Thus the delisting from the so-called “gray list” of the OECD was achieved. For Liechtenstein, the agreements with large states such as the USA, Great Britain, Germany and France in particular have a positive effect in terms of credibility, gain in reputation and legal certainty for customers.

In 2013, VP Bank took over the  private banking activities and the private banking-related fund business in Luxembourg from HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt (International) SA.

In December 2014, VP Bank announced the merger with Centrum Bank, also based in Liechtenstein. As of January 7, 2015, VP Bank took over all shares in Centrum Bank, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary of VP Bank. The legal merger was completed on May 1, 2015. The Marxer Foundation for Bank and Corporate Values, previously the sole owner of Centrum Bank, invested in VP Bank for the equivalent of the share purchase price.

The fund business is a focal point of business activity for VP Bank. VP Fund Solutions is the bank's fund competence center and consists of VP Fund Solutions (Liechtenstein) AG and VP Fund Solutions (Luxembourg) SA .
