Administrative community Frohburg

The administrative community Frohburg was an administrative community in the district of Leipzig in the Free State of Saxony .

It was formed on January 1, 2008 from the communities of Frohburg and Eulatal and had around 11,000 inhabitants on an area of ​​107.52 km². The seat of the administrative community was the city of Frohburg. It was located roughly in the middle between Leipzig and Chemnitz at the transition from the Leipzig lowland bay to the Saxon castle and heathland , about 35 km south of Leipzig and 10 km south of Borna . The river Wyhra flows through Frohburg .

The B 176 runs through Eulatal and the Neukieritzsch - Geithain (- Chemnitz) railway runs through both places. The B 7 and the B 95 intersect south of Frohburg . Frohburg will have a direct connection to the A 72 motorway, which is currently under construction .

On January 1, 2009 the administrative community was dissolved and the community Eulatal was incorporated into the city of Frohburg.
