The Vestkapp ( Norwegian for Western Cape ) is a striking cape at the Princess Martha Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Lands . It rises from the front of the Riiser-Larsen Ice Shelf and protrudes about 100 km west of the Kraulberge into the Weddell Sea .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named the cape, mapped it based on aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952).
