The Kraulberge ( English Kraul Mountains ) are a mountain range in the Antarctic sector claimed by Norway . On the Norwegian maps of Queen Maud Land , this mountain range is called Vestfjella (Norwegian for western mountains ). These nunatakkers were discovered by the German Antarctic expedition in 1938/39 during a reconnaissance flight and named after the expedition's ice pilot, Captain Otto Kraul (1892–1972).

The Kraulberge run from the Veststraumen glacier about 110 km to the northwest and consist of about 20 nunataks; the highest point is the Dagvola with 1123  m . Geologically, the Kraulberge are built up from Jura basalt lavas. Only in the easternmost Nunatak, Fossilryggen, are Permian sandstones and claystones with well-preserved plant fossils .

The Swedish research station Wasa and the Finnish research station Aboa are located in the Kraul Mountains. Both stations were in the southern summer 1988/89 in the immediate vicinity of nunataks bases at 73 ° 3 '  S , 13 ° 25'  W erected. They are only used as summer stations.
