Veturia is the mother of the Roman legendary figure Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus , who was banished from Rome and then defected to the Volscore . He started a war against his own hometown, which he broke off only at the request of his mother Veturia. He led the Volsk army back home, but was slain there as a traitor. The legend takes place at the beginning of the 5th century BC. Chr.

Veturia also appears in the series of the Nine Good Heroines as a representative of paganism.
