The VfL Bad Ems eV is a German sports club based in the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Bad Ems within the municipality Bad Ems-Nassau in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis .

history

Founded until World War II

The club was founded in 1909 as the 1st football club in Ems . In 1910 the company was re-established under the name FC Britania 1910 , and a year later it was renamed FC Prussia . However, due to the First World War , gaming operations then come to a standstill. After the club was dissolved in 1919, it was re-established as SC 09 Bad Ems in 1920 . During the time of National Socialism , the club had to use the name gymnastics and sports club and only played under-class.

post war period

After the end of the Second World War, the last name change followed in 1946 to VfL Bad Ems, which is still valid today, the colors red and white were also chosen as the shirt colors at that time. For the 1951/52 season , he was promoted to the Rhineland regional league, which was third at the time. At the end of the season, the club placed 12th in the middle and did not qualify for the amateur league Rhineland, which was introduced for the next season. Thus, the club had to compete in the fourth class 2nd amateur league for the next season. For the 1955/56 season, the promotion to the third-class amateur league Rhineland succeeds, with 36:20 points, the championship is just missed in the first season. 1960s and 1970s

From the 1995/96 season, the free fall follows, down to the district league A. In which you played from the 1998/99 season to the 2008/09 season.

Current time

After this season, the team rose again to the district league. This one had to leave immediately after the 2009/10 season. From the district league A Rhein / Lahn succeeds, but then immediately the promotion. After the 2012/13 season, however, you have to leave the league again. The next championship then succeeded at the end of the 2014/15 season with 66 points, with which the team was able to return to the district league one more time. This time it is possible to hold on a little longer. After the 2017/18 season, however, it will be over again. Thus, the club still plays in the district league A.

Other departments
