Vicariae potestatis in urbe ("the authority of the representative [Christ] in the city [Rome]") is an apostolic constitution of Pope Paul VI. , with which he announced on January 6, 1977 reforms relating to the episcopate of the Diocese of Rome .

Pope Paul VI based his reforms on the decisions of the Second Vatican Council and the Council document Lumen Gentium and referred to the apostolic constitution of Pope Pius X.
