Victor Malmström (born February 8, 1991 ) is a Finnish ski racer . His strongest disciplines are slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Victor Malmström has been competing in FIS races and the Finnish championships since the 2006/2007 season . After several podiums and first victories in FIS races, he has also been at the start in the European Cup since the 2009/2010 season . His first top 10 result was a seventh place in the giant slalom in Oberjoch on February 11, 2010. Otherwise, due to numerous failures in the European Cup until the end of the 2011/2012 season, he was rarely among the top 30. At Junior World Championships, where he was from Participated from 2009 to 2011, his best results were fifth place in the 2010 giant slalom and two tenth places in the 2009 combined and the 2011 giant slalom . In April 2010 he became the Finnish slalom champion.

On November 15, 2009, Malmström first took part in a World Cup race in the Levi slalom . So far, however, he has not made it into the second round in any of his sporadic World Cup slalom starts. Nevertheless, he was also used at the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the slalom, where he was the only one of the four Finnish starters to see the finish in the first run, but then also failed in the second run. At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season , Malmström celebrated his first European Cup victory when he won the second giant slalom in Levi .
