Victor Thomas Trumper (born November 2, 1877 in Sydney , New South Wales , † June 28, 1915 ibid) was an Australian cricketer . He was considered one of the most brilliant batsmen of his era. In 1903 he was voted one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year . On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack in 1963, he was elected one of the Six giants of the Wisden century . In September 2009, Trumper was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

Trumper made his test debut in June 1899 against England in Nottingham. He played a total of 48 matches for the Australian test team , in which he scored 3163 runs (39.04 runs per wicket ). Trumper played his best season in 1902. That season he scored 2570 runs in 35 matches (48 runs per wicket). His last appearance in a test was against England in Sydney at the end of February 1912.
