Victoria Oldenburg (officially: Spiel- und Sportclub Victoria Oldenburg eV ) was a sports club from the Oldenburg district of Osternburg . The first soccer team played for a year in the then first-class Gauliga Weser-Ems and 14 years in the highest amateur league in Lower Saxony.

history

The club was founded on June 4, 1911 and was accepted into the Gauliga Weser / Ems for the 1943/44 season. In the Oldenburg-Friesland season, however, the team was overwhelmed and finished last. After the Second World War , Victoria merged on November 9, 1947 with the Kickers Oldenburg interest group founded by a group of entrepreneurs in September 1947 to form SuS Kickers-Victoria Oldenburg . Two years after the establishment, after a 4-1 playoff win against TuS Aurich, the company was promoted to the Lower Saxony-West amateur league .

After the team, which was referred to by the locals as Kivis , was only able to secure relegation as thirteenth, the club had to file for bankruptcy on July 3, 1950 . On September 18, 1950, the successor to SSV Victoria Oldenburg was founded, which was allowed to continue playing in the amateur league. At first they fought against relegation before the runner-up behind local rivals VfB could be celebrated in 1957 . The team had to play a playoff to participate in the promotion round to Oberliga Nord . In Verden, Victoria lost 4-2 to VfB Peine .

The team fell back into mediocrity and had to relegate to the amateur league 1 in 1963 after a playoff loss to Kickers Emden . As runner-up in 1964, Victoria qualified for the newly created Association League North . Three years later, he was relegated to the district league before going down to the district league in 1978.

On April 22, 1996, Victoria merged with TV Glück-Auf 1894 Oldenburg and the Oldenburg tennis initiative to form GVO Oldenburg . After promotion in the 2010/11 season, the first team played in the Ammerland / Oldenburg-Stadt district league .
