The four O regions in Namibia

“Four O regions” , also North Central Namibia , ( English Four “O” regions or north-central region ) is a name for the four northernmost regions of Namibia : Ohangwena , Omusati , Oshana and Oshikoto . Above all, they are traditional settlement areas of the Ovambo .

With the exception of the southern border, the regions are almost congruent with the former homeland Ovamboland . Around half of the Namibian population (around 900,000) live in these regions.
