Residential building

The residential building Viersener Straße 129-131 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) in the Am Wasserturm district .

The building was built in 1925/26 and entered under No. V 020 on March 28, 1995 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The building is part of a building complex of five rental houses on the ring road around the water tower and extending into Viersener Straße.

architecture

It is a two-storey double dwelling with mirror-symmetrical facades . Each half of the facade is accentuated in the center by a stepped gable . In addition to the even row of windows in the form of a large facade, a plinth and a protruding eaves cornice take on the horizontal structure. The regularity of the six window axes (upper floor) is interrupted on the ground floor by two coupled rectangular windows flanking the house entrance on the left and right. The other windows are designed as uniform vertical rectangles with a flat plaster frame and sharp-edged sills . The three windows in the gable are almost square. A moderately steeply inclined gable roof as a conclusion. A protection of the building is therefore in the public interest for urban planning and architectural-historical reasons.
