The sea area Viking (named after the Vikingbank ) is located approximately one hundred kilometers east of the Shetland Islands in the North Sea . The southern border with Forties is at the level of the northern edge of the British Isles. In the east it is bounded by Utsira to the Norwegian coast . The division into sea areas allows a differentiated regional forecast at sea, for example for weather and fish stocks.
