Fischer is a sea area in the eastern North Sea off the Danish coast. It is named after a sandbank in the area . In the north it joins the sea area Utsira Süd and in the northeast on the Skagerrak . Its southern boundary to the German Bight is approximately at the level of Holmsland Klit .

The establishment of this weather forecast area was decided in 1955, together with other changes, in a conference of meteorologists from the North Sea countries . One year later, Fischer was mainly based in the northeastern part of what was then the Dogger region . In 1984 and most recently in 2002 the division of the sea areas was changed again.
