Viktor Hoeniger

Viktor Hoeniger (born February 22, 1870 in Ratibor ; † March 7, 1953 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German judge .

Life

The Prussian and Baden Hoeniger was the son of the banker Rudolf Hoeniger and his wife Berta, b. Weissler. The legal scholar Heinrich Hoeniger (1879–1961) was his brother. He was sworn in in 1894 and a magistrate in 1899. In 1905 he was promoted to chief magistrate and in 1906 to district judge. In 1914 he was appointed senior judge. On May 16, 1922, he was appointed assistant judge at the Reich Court and on May 1, 1923, he was appointed Reich Judge. He was employed in the IV Civil Senate and IV Criminal Senate .

Since he was viewed by the anti-Semites as a “Jewish lawyer”, he had to retire on April 1, 1935. Together with his daughter and two grandchildren, so-called second degree half - breeds , he lived secluded in Freiburg. Since he looked after the offspring, he was spared. During the war, he had to make special payments from his pension, which had already been reduced.

After the war he was chairman of the ruling chamber in Freiburg.
