Viktor Horváth

Viktor Horváth (born February 26, 1978 in Székesfehérvár ) is a former Hungarian pentathlete .

Career

Horváth celebrated great success at world championships , won a total of twelve medals and was world champion eight times. In 2001 he collected his first two titles with the relay and the team and was runner-up in the individual world championship. He defended the team title the following year , also in 2003 . Also with the season he won the title again this year. He won his third world title with the relay in 2005 and increased the number of titles in 2006 with the fourth title in this discipline. He also secured silver in the individual and with the team. With the team followed in 2007 his only win of a bronze medal. He finally won his eighth and final world title in 2007 in the individual discipline.

Horváth collected seven medals at European championships and won the title five times. With the team he was European champion in 2001 and 2005 , in 2001 and 2003 with the relay and in 2007 in the individual.

Horváth took in 2008 at the Olympics in Beijing , where he to the general classification at the end of 19th place held. Following the Games, he ended his career.
