Viktor Michl

Viktor Michl (born January 24, 1865 in Pozorka , Bohemia ; † November 7, 1927 in Mies , Bohemia) was a member of the Reichsrat, one of the most important politicians in German Bohemia . After the end of the First World War he was a member of the provisional national assembly of German-Austria .

Life

Origin and studies

Michl was born on January 24, 1865 in Rozanka in Bohemia, the son of a senior geometer. Attained university entrance began in Prague his medical studies, which he in 1892 with the promotion of Dr. med. finished. During his studies he joined the Teutonia Prague fraternity .

Professional and political activity

After completing his studies, Michl was initially a general practitioner and city doctor in Mies, as well as a district health insurance doctor and medical advisor. In 1896 he was a co-founder of the Bund der Deutschen in Böhmen in Mies and from 1919 a member of the main management. His commitment also applied to other associations, such as "Free School", of which he was chairman.

His political career began as a member of the community committee and the district council in Mies. He was elected to the Reichsrat for the first time in 1907 for the constituency of Bohemia 93 Mies-Bischofteinitz-Bergreichenstein. Michl was first a member of the Reichsrat in Vienna for the Free Germans and then for the German Radicals . After the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, he was a member of the provisional national assembly of the independent German-Austrian state for the DnP . In 1919 he took over the main management of the Federation of Farmers .
