Viktor Rud

Viktor Rud ( Ukrainian Віктор Рудь ; * 1981 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian opera singer ( baritone ). He has been engaged at the Hamburg State Opera since 2009 .

Life

Viktor Rud began studying music as a conductor at the Ukrainian National Academy of Music in 1996, which he successfully completed in 2001. From 1999 to 2002 he worked as a conductor and choirmaster of the student choir of the National Technical University in Kiev. In 2002 he began postgraduate singing studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was tutored by Mark Wildman and Audrey Hyland and was engaged in the opera studio in 2004. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the opera studio at the Berlin State Opera . Viktor Rud has been a permanent member of the Hamburg State Opera ensemble since the 2009/10 season .

Viktor Rud's father is a biologist and lives in Kiev, his late mother was a doctor.
