Viktoria Hühnerfeld (full name: Sportclub Viktoria 1912 Hühnerfeld eV ) is a sports club from Sulzbach in Saarland . The first soccer team currently plays in the Saarbrücken district league. For eight years between 1952 and 1961 the team belonged to the then second-class 2nd Division Southwest.
history
The association was founded in 1912 as SpVgg Viktoria 1912 Hühnerfeld . In 1935 the association merged with TV Hühnerfeld to form TuS Hühnerfeld , which changed its name to SC Viktoria Hühnerfeld in 1945 . Between August 1, 1958 and 1984, the club appeared under the name SC Viktoria Sulzbach . The renaming in the meantime was connected with a donation from the city treasury.
In 1950 the team was promoted to the Saarland Honor League and two years later reached the II. Southwest Division. Viktoria stayed in the second division for three years before relegation to the Saarland amateur league in 1955 . As Saarland champions, the team prevailed in the promotion round and returned to the 2nd division. In the 1959/60 season , fourth place was the best placement in the club's history. A year later, he was relegated to the amateur league.
In 1963, Viktoria was again champion of the Saarland amateur league, but missed promotion to the Southwest Regionalliga . At the German Amateur Championship , the team was eliminated in the semifinals against the eventual title holder VfB Stuttgart Amateure . A year later, Viktoria won the third Saarland Championship, but failed in the Regionalliga promotion round to Germania Metternich .
As runner-up in the amateur league, the team reached the German Amateur Championship again in 1966, where the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against SG Westend Frankfurt after the round of 16 against SpVgg Erkenschwick . Two years later, Viktoria was relegated from the amateur league, before going one step lower in 1972.
In 1983, the team made it back to the district league, which was followed by a direct march through to the state league. The third rise in a row was missed by a defeat in the playoff against TuS Eschringen . It was not until 1988 that he returned to the association league. After several years of relegation battle, Viktoria had to relegate back to the state league in 1995 and has since been commuting between the association and state leagues. From the latter you had to relegate to the Saarbrücken district league in 2015. After a mixed season they finished in 6th place. In the following 2016/2017 season, despite all efforts, they were relegated to the Saarbrücken district league. In the year 2018 that followed, they rose again undefeated to the district league.
