Oberliga 1959/60

The II. Division 1959/60 was the eleventh season of the II. Division , which was the second highest division in football in parts of Germany between 1949 and 1963. In the 1959/60 season there was a single-track II Division in west , south-west and south Germany . The 2nd Division was not introduced in northern Germany and West Berlin . Here the amateur league was the second highest division.

The SV Sodingen and TSV Marl-sleeve rose in the Oberliga West. Fortuna Düsseldorf and Schwarz-Weiß Essen were relegated from the league . Union Krefeld and the Rheydter Spielverein had to relegate to the association league and were replaced by SSV Hagen and BV Osterfeld .

Promotion round west

The champions of the three West German associations took part in the promotion round. Since both Selm and Baesweiler renounced the promotion, the Westphalian runner-up SSV Hagen moved up.

southwest

The SV Niederlahnstein and the TuS Neuendorf rose to the Oberliga Südwest. VfR Kaiserslautern and FV Speyer were relegated from the Oberliga Südwest . The FC 08 Homburg and the ASV Landau had to dismount in the amateur league and were Germania Metternich and FSV Schifferstadt replaced.

Ascent round southwest

The champions of the three southwest German amateur leagues took part in the promotion round. The champions of the Amateur League Southwest were the amateurs of 1. FC Kaiserslautern who were not eligible for promotion. Since the promotion round was also the southwest German amateur championship, Kaiserslautern took part in the games. The games with Kaiserslautern participation were not taken into account to determine the promoted players.

The SV Waldhof 07 and SSV Jahn Regensburg rose in the Oberliga Süd. Viktoria Aschaffenburg and the Stuttgarter Kickers were relegated from the league . The FC Hanau 93 and 1. FC Bamberg had to stay in the Amateurliga and were prepared by the TSV Schwaben Augsburg and Borussia Fulda replaced.
