Vila do Conde is located in the Brazilian state of Pará and is a municipality near the port city of Belém . Vila do Conde is located directly on the Rio Pará and has a container terminal. The main source of income is the port.

Economy and port

The port of Vila do Conde was inaugurated on October 24, 1985 and is located in the district of Barcarena in the state of Pará on the right bank of the Rio Pará, which is a tributary of the Amazon . This place is also called Ponta Grossa and is about 3.3 km from Vila do Conde. This is where the river systems of the Bay of Marajó come together and create a navigable area. The waters of the Tocantins , Guamá and Capim meet here. Since 2012, Vila do Conde has also received a container terminal operated by the private operator SBSA Santos Brasil. In Barcarena there is also a loading terminal for bulk goods.
