The Villa Adolf Neumann is located at Wilhelm-Busch-Straße 11 in the Niederlößnitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul . It was built in 1888 by the architect and master builder Adolf Neumann (1852–1920), who ran his building yard on the area to the right, i.e. to the north.

description

Villa Adolf Neumann

The one and a half storey, listed country house-like villa has a jamb and a gable roof . It stands on the eaves facing the street; on the right side there is a two-storey transverse wing with a rafter gable, which only steps forward like a risalit towards the street , while it represents a longer extension on the back of the building. To the left of the back of the street view is an open wooden veranda.

The entrance is provided with a round arched door facing the street, in a porch, which is connected above a flight of stairs on the right side view. This entrance porch is followed by an approximately square, single-storey extension on the right-hand side. There is an exit on top of the porch and the extension , protected by a wooden grille. There used to be a pergola on the extension .

At the rear of the building there is a one and a half story utility wing with a flat roof .

The building facades are structured by cornices and bordered by corner pilaster strips. The windows are surrounded by sandstone walls and are protected by horizontal roofs. The roof areas are covered with roof slate.

history

Kötzschenbroda and Niederlößnitz: Adolf Neumann's villa is in the center of the picture, the building yard adjoins it to the bottom left.

On January 31, 1888 Neumann submitted the building application for the building, the approval of which he received as draftsman, builder and contractor just two weeks later on February 14. In September 1895, Neumann added a roughly square extension to the entrance porch on the right. Neumann lived at Carolastraße 11, where he also ran his construction business. The building yard was located on the large area to the right of the building.

His company was continued at the same location as Adolf Neumann Nachf. On November 5, 1908, by the builder Felix Sommer (1878–1934), who had already worked for Neumann from around 1902 and later built across the street at No. 16 . From 1924 the address was Admiral-Scheer-Straße 11.

Today the house is used as a residential building and for a practice, while the building yard (No. 11a) is used by a craft enterprise.
