Villa Becker in Pforzheim

The Villa Becker is a villa on the Wilferdinger Höhe in the northwest of Pforzheim . Since 1985 it has served as the lodge house of the Freemason Lodge Reuchlin iO Pforzheim .

Villa Becker was built in 1913 for the private owner Karl Friedrich Staib. He ran the Lindenhof café here during the First World War . In the 1920s, the jewelry manufacturer Wilhelm Becker acquired the villa and made it his home. The building is named after him. Becker gained special importance for Pforzheim when he was appointed acting mayor in April 1945 . During this time, the villa served as a provisional town hall , as no suitable rooms could be found elsewhere after the extensive destruction of Pforzheim . In 1983 the Freemason Lodge Reuchlin acquired the badly dilapidated building and restored it almost entirely in-house between 1985 and 1989. In addition to being used as a box house for the Freemason Lodge Reuchlin, the Association for the Promotion of the Preservation of the Villa Becker Monument in Pforzheim organizes cultural events in the Villa Becker at irregular intervals.
