The Villa Eisgrubweg 13 , on Eisgrubweg in Mainz , was built in 1873/74 based on designs by Philipp Krebs . The villa is surrounded by a garden that was laid out when it was built. The five-sided property is, also due to its location on two streets and partly greater height differences, of an irregular shape. The building stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .
architecture
The representative neo-renaissance villa in the style of a Tuscan country house was built in 1873/74 based on designs by the architect Philipp Krebs. The two-story clinker brick building, which is integrated into the house, is supported by a rusticated basement and has a polygonal floor plan due to the shape of the property and the terrain. In 1903 a winter garden was added by the architect Oscar Hauswald .
Use as a fraternity house
In the 1960s, the student association KDStV Rhenania-Moguntia zu Mainz acquired the house as a corporation house in the CV . A previous owner is said to have been Counselor Joseph Zuckmayer, an uncle of the writer Carl Zuckmayer .
