Villa Krause is an Argentine city in the center of the province of San Juan in the Valle del Tulum south of the city of San Juan .
The city is the capital and seat of government of the Rawson Department . It has 108,000 inhabitants (2001) and is at an altitude of 650 m above sea level. NN.
The city , which dates back to the engineer Domingo Krause , an adopted son of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento , and named after Augusto Krause , is experiencing strong population growth despite its desert climate. It only received city rights in 1983.
