history

The villa in what was then Capellenbergstrasse 9 (later 3) designed and built in 1871/1872 court mason Friedrich August Hasenheyer (1823-1891) for the merchant C. Kunig. In addition, Hasenheyer built a stable building in 1873 and enclosed the property with an iron mesh fence in 1874. Kunig lived in the house himself. In the Potsdam address book for 1878, the landowner's widow Margarete Thusnelda von Puttkamer , born von der Osten (1838–1897) is registered as the owner. In 1888 she had “Gebr. Bolle Maurermeister ”roof the veranda facing the street with an iron structure.

After the landowner's widow died, the house went to Marie Medding, née Dehnicke (1844–1924), widow of the Berlin entrepreneur and owner of the “Concerthaus” in Leipziger Strasse , Franz Medding (1835–1894). In 1905, master bricklayer Wilhelm Berend (1851–1931) had a utility wing with a kitchen added to the rear of the house, which was accessible to the staff via an outside staircase. In the Potsdam address books for 1927 and 1938/1939 the son of the same name, who lived in Magdeburg, later Berlin-Charlottenburg , was a member of the government. D. Franz Medding (1869–1945) noted as the owner who rented living space to several people. The villa is used commercially today (as of 2017).
