Grave lion, today in the Hartberg city park

As early as 1700, when a house was being built south of Villa Rustica, a Roman burial mound was demolished. Two Roman grave lions were found, one of which is placed in the Hartberg city park. After observations by the landowners, the foundations of the Villa Rustica in Löffelbach were uncovered and preserved under the direction of Walter Modrijan in the years 1961–1963 . Between 1992 and 2002 the foundation walls were restored.
