The Villa Schliz was an upper-class house in Heilbronn . It was on Hohe Strasse. After severe war damage, a few structural remains of the house were included in a modified, modern reconstruction at Siebeneichgasse 12.

description

The house was built in 1885 as a town house for the doctor Alfred Schliz based on designs by the prominent Berlin architects Heinrich Kayser and Karl von Großheim . The historicist architecture shows stylistic features of the South German Renaissance . The stone street facade was basically symmetrical and strictly axially structured, but was strongly characterized by the lateral polygonal corner bay window with onion dome. The side facade facing the garden courtyard was designed with various architectural elements in an irregular and picturesque manner; on the upper floor there were also half-timbered wall sections on this side .

In 1901, the client, Schliz, had another villa built as a summer house on the Lerchenberg east of the city (in today's Alexanderstraße 53 ).

The city villa on Hohen Strasse was largely destroyed in World War II. The Hohe Straße , towards which the building was originally oriented, has merged into the street Am Wollhaus due to the design of the current surroundings of the Wollhausplatz . Remnants of the old structure such as a polygonal corner tower and a decorative element embedded in the facade are preserved in the post-war building, which faces Siebeneichgasse . Another structural relic of the prewar period is directly adjacent to this building on the left with the remains of the wall of the Klarakloster .
