The Villa Sturmfried from the street side

The Villa Sturmfried in Flensburg - Friesischer Berg was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Today it is one of the city's cultural monuments .

background

The square, two-story brick building was built in 1910/11 in the homeland security style according to plans by the architect Anton Huber. The building facade facing the street consists of a flat, gabled central projection , several windows and a portal to which an outside staircase leads up. Just like Villa Sturmfried, the neighboring red-brick villas and single-family houses were also built in the 20th century. Like its neighboring buildings, the villa originally had the address Klaus-Groth-Straße 37. It was not until 1921 that this part of Klaus-Groth-Straße was renamed Hebbelstraße , so that the Sturmfried villa was given its current address “Hebbelstraße 11.”. The Villa Sturmfried was recently placed under monument protection for historical, artistic and urban planning reasons .
