Villa rustica (Steindorf)

The villa rustica in the district of Hausen near Hofhegnenberg , a district of the municipality of Steindorf in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg in Bavaria , was discovered during gravel mining in the 1940s and 1950s. The villa rustica of the Roman Empire is 450 meters north of the Church of St. Peter and Paul and is a protected ground monument .

During the gravel quarrying, Roman finds were extracted, including several fragments of tufa columns .

In 1993, deep plowing caused great damage to the monument substance, as demonstrated by the brick rubble and broken fragments of columns up to two meters in length.
