biography

Born in the USA , he moved to Italy , the land of his ancestors, in the mid-1940s to open a studio in Rome on Via Veneto .

In 1949 he was invited to Paris by Christian Dior and appointed to a stylistic collaboration with the French fashion house. In 1952 Ferdinandi took part in the first historical fashion show at Palazzo Pitti in Florence with Sartoria Antonelli, Atelier Carosa, Roberto Capucci, Giovanelli Sciarra, Germana Marucelli, Polinober, Sartoria Vanna and Jole Veneziani .

In 1953 he helped found the SIAM - Syndicato Italiano Alta Moda (later the National Chamber of Italian Fashion) together with other great studios of the time . In July 1954 he took part in the "Alta Moda in Castel Sant'Angelo" in the impressive ambience of the famous castle together with Sorelle Fontana, Emilio Schuberth, Giovannelli Sciarra, Garnett and Mingolini-Guggenheim.
