Vincenzo Orlandini

Vincenzo Orlandini (born August 30, 1910 in Rome , † October 23, 1961 ) was an Italian football referee . The high point of his career was the final of the 1954 World Cup , where he was a line judge.

Life

During the Football World Cup in 1954, Orlandini also refereed the preliminary round match between Scotland and Uruguay and the World Cup semi-finals between Germany and Austria.

Later he also led important games such as Germany against England in London in December 1954 or Yugoslavia against Scotland in Belgrade in May 1955.

At the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, he whistled the preliminary round game Scotland against Paraguay in Group B. In addition, he led a total of 235 games in Serie A during his career .

Before his death, he was a referee in several qualifying matches for the first European championship in 1962.
