Foramen spinosum
The spinosum foramen is a small hole in the base of the skull in humans and predators . It lies in the posterior area of the large wing of the sphenoid bone and leads into the middle fossa cranii media .
The vena and arteria meningea media pass through the foramen spinosum, along with accompanying sympathetic nerve fibers as well as the meningeal branch ( Ramus meningeus ) of the nervus mandibularis .
