The Vinnie Vincent Invasion was a glam metal band that was founded in 1985 around the former Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent and existed until 1988.

Vinnie Vincent, who had succeeded Ace Frehley at Kiss, wanted to start a solo career in 1985 and therefore recorded some pieces with ex- Journey singer Robert Fleischman, among others . Through the mediation of the manager George Sewitt they led to a contract for four million US dollars and eight albums with the record company Chrysalis . In addition to Fleischman and Vinnie Vincent, the group also included Dana Strum (bass) and Bobby Rock (drums).

Special features of the first record of his new band, released in 1986, which was quickly listed on the Billboard 200 , stayed there for 29 weeks and reached number 64, were the very fast guitar solos and the distinctive falsetto voice of Fleischman, which, however, after the release of the first album was replaced by Mark Slaughter. The reason for this was that Fleischman was not interested in going on tour with the group and therefore had not entered into a contract with the group (a trick that band leader Vinnie Vincent had also used with Kiss). The group did their first tour in support of Alice Cooper on his Constrictor / The Nightmare Returns tour, later they accompanied Iron Maiden on their Somewhere on Tour tour.

The group's second album, All Systems Go , featured Mark Slaughter as a singer. This record also reached number 64, but stayed on the Billboard 200 for two weeks longer than its predecessor. The song Love Kills was provided for the soundtrack of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 - The Dream Master . After the release of the long player, the group went on tour in July 1988, but separated immediately after the concert in Anaheim on August 26, 1988. Drummer Bobby Rock mentioned this in an interview: »Frictions and misunderstandings between (bandleader) Vinnie Vincent and the Rest of the group «back. Strum and Slaughter then formed the formation Slaughter , Bobby Rock joined the group Nitro and later Nelson .

Vinnie Vincent's attempt to find a new line-up for a third album failed. Although the singer Fleischman returned for a short time and the previously unknown drummer Andre Labelle joined the band, it was not possible to find a bassist. Chrysalis Records announced the record deal in 1989, and Vincent filed for personal bankruptcy just two months later. He released an EP ( Euphoria ) under his own name, on which Fleischman sang again, but then disappeared from the public eye.
