Vinnie Vincent Invasion is the debut album by the American glam metal band Vinnie Vincent Invasion , released in 1986 .

background

Vinnie Vincent had replaced Ace Frehley at Kiss in 1983 and recorded the album Lick It Up with the group . Vincent was dismissed on November 25, 1983 for various extravagances that he afforded himself at the European concerts of the "Lick It Up" tour. Due to various circumstances, he was hired again, but did not sign a new contract. Rules of conduct for appearances in public (concerts, press, etc.) were imposed on him, and the tour continued with him from December 26, 1983 in the USA. Vincent initially kept to the agreements, but gradually broke them again. In order to be able to keep control of the group they founded, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley ended the collaboration after the end of the tour on March 17, 1984. Stanley stated that you could “not join a band that was already like that is successful for many years and suddenly demand that the entire team dance to your tune. "

Vincent founded after his time in Kiss the Group Vinnie Vincent Invasion , where he among other ex- Journey singer Robert Fleischman some demos recorded, leading to a contract for four million dollars and eight albums with the record company Chrysalis led the Vincent, however, completed his name. In addition to Fleischman and Vinnie Vincent, the group also included Dana Strum (bass) and Bobby Rock (drums).

A special feature of his new band's 1986 first record, which was quickly listed on the Billboard 200 , were the very fast guitar solos and Fleischman's distinctive falsetto voice, who was replaced by Mark Slaughter after the album was released.

Two singles were released from the album : Boyz Are Gonna Rock and Back on the Streets, which was already made by Kiss. A video clip was also shot for Boyz Are Gonna Rock , in which the band's new singer, Mark Slaughter, can be seen moving his lips to Robert Fleischmann's vocal track . Back on the Streets was built by John Norum on his debut album Total Control gecovert .
