Vinod Khosla

Vinod Khosla (born January 28, 1955 in Pune , India ) is an American businessman of Indian origin.

Khosla is a co-founder of Sun Microsystems and founder of Khosla Ventures and became a partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 1986 .

In 2010 he received the Champions of Earth Award .

education

Khosla received his bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology . He later did his MBA from Stanford University .

Forbes magazine estimates his 2008 net worth at $ 1.5 billion. This puts Khosla in 785th place worldwide. He invested a large part of this wealth in the development of environmental technologies. I.a. he founded the company Calera, which specializes in lowering carbon dioxide by chemically binding CO 2 in cement ( carbonate ). He was also an early investor in Impossible Foods .
