Vincent Knor

Vinzenz Knor (born January 6, 1956 in Neuberg im Burgenland ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and secondary school teacher. From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Vinzenz Knor attended elementary school in Neuberg and the secondary school in St. Michael / Güssing before he switched to high school in Güssing. After graduating from high school, he graduated from a pedagogical academy and trained as a teacher. Since September 1, 1977 he has been teaching English, handicrafts and biology at the Güssing secondary school.

Vinzenz Knor is married and has three children.

Knor began his political career in community politics. From 1974 to 1980 he was a youth representative in Neuberg and from 1980 to 1991 a local committee member in Moschendorf. He has been a city committee member in Güssing since 1991 and a member of the municipal council since 1997. He has been a city councilor since 2002 and was elected 1st Vice Mayor of the municipality on March 12, 2003. On March 31, 2006, Knor also took over the chairmanship of the SPÖ city party.

From October 25, 2005, Knor represented the SPÖ in the state parliament. He was a member of the immunity and incompatibility committee as well as the social committee and held the function of the SPÖ area spokesman for ethnic groups and minorities, citizen service and administration as well as citizens' initiatives and NGOs. After Knor was only ranked 3rd in the SPÖ district proposal for the Güssing state electoral district in the 2010 state elections in Burgenland , he left the state parliament on June 24, 2010.

In October 2012 he became mayor of the city of Güssing .
