Vinzenz Weissenburger
Vinzenz Weissenburger (* 1980 ) is a German conductor , choir director and certified sound engineer.
From the age of six, Weissenburger received extensive musical training on the piano and later as a choirboy with the Staats- und Domchor Berlin and on the organ. While still at school, he passed the church music exam.
From 2001 to 2006 he studied at the Berlin University of the Arts , which he left with a degree as a sound engineer. Several times he was successful in this field in international competitions. He received the first prize in the "Student Recording Competition" of the "Int. Audio Engineering Society " and the young talent award of the " Verband Deutscher Tonmeister " (2006).
In 2005, however, he set a new focus in his work and began studying conducting with Hans-Christoph Rademann and Steffen Leisner (choir) and Ekkehard Klemm (orchestra) at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden . Vinzenz Weissenburger took on a teaching position at the Staats- und Domchor Berlin (the boys' choir at the University of the Arts). There he studied a. a. solo roles with the Boys' Choir and is responsible for choir rehearsals and the work of the young male voices.
Vinzenz Weissenburger was often involved in CD and radio recordings on the instrument or as a conductor. He also worked as a choir assistant on the Germany tour for "The Lord of the Rings Symphony" in April 2007, and in summer 2007 he was the choir director of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera for the production of Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff . Since the beginning of the 2007/08 season he has been the director of the children's choir at the State Opera Unter den Linden . After just two years of working together, the children's choir was awarded the prize at the State Choir Competition in Berlin, and in 2014 it won first prize at the German Choir Competition in Weimar. With the chamber choir of the State Opera Apollini et Musis , the CD “Saudade. Choral Music from Brazil ”has been published.
From the end of 2007 to 2013 he was the artistic director of the Kammerchor Friedrichstadt Berlin eV, and since the end of 2011 he has headed the consortium musicum berlin. For the first half of 2010 he took over the management of the Berlin Cathedral Choir .
