Violet Odogwu
Violet Odogwu ( Violet Obiamaka Odogwu; born May 15, 1942 in Asaba-Ase , Delta ) is a former Nigerian long jumper , hurdler , high jumper and sprinter .
In 1958 she was ninth in the high jump and twelfth in the long jump at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff . With the Nigerian 4-by-110-yard relay, she was eliminated in the run-up.
In 1966 she won bronze in the long jump at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston and was eighth in the 80 m hurdles .
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she came in ninth place in the long jump . In the qualification she set her personal best with 6.45 m.
