Virgílio Maria Dias Marçal

Virgílio Maria Dias Marçal (born December 23, 1954 in Baucau , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party.

Marçal has a degree in public administration. During the Indonesian occupation he was a member of the UDT administrator of the Baucau district . At the same time he hid leaders of the East Timorese resistance.

Marçal was later president of the Federação Nacional dos Antigos Salesianos de Timor-Leste . In 2007, Marçal was elected to the National Parliament of East Timor as the third deputy chairman of the CNRT . In 2012 he was re-elected. Since 2007 he has been a member of Parliament's Health Commission (Commission F). In the 2017 elections , Marçal was no longer included on the CNRT's electoral list and thus left parliament.
